CLASS 1

On all vessels entering with cargo from or departing with cargo for any Port in the United Kingdom and Channel Islands and for vessels which do not enter a dock but receive or deliver passengers, goods, animals or minerals at or upon or otherwise use any of the works or premises of the Port Authority and all vessels entering and departing in ballast a sum for every gross ton of such vessel.

CLASS 2

On all vessels entering with cargo from or departing with cargo for any other Port in Europe or within the Straits of Gibraltar.

CLASS 3

On all vessels entering with cargo from or departing with cargo for all other foreign Ports.

For every vessel entering from or departing for any foreign Port which does not enter a South Wales Port but receives or delivers passengers, goods, animals or minerals at or upon or otherwise uses any of the works or premises of the Port Authority, a charge will be quoted on application.

I Schedule of Charges

Tonnage Charges on Vessels with Part Cargoes to or From Foreign Ports (Part Cargo Arrangements)

Vessels loading and/or discharging a 'part cargo' will be charged either at the Scheduled G.T. charge or at the special 'part cargo' charge of £2.96 whichever is the lesser (subject to a minimum locking fee of £0.55 per G.T.) the total inwards and outwards cargo will be aggregated. For all cargoes where the cbm of the cargo is more than twice the tonnage of the cargo, the part cargo arrangement will be based on the cbm of the cargo.

 

Vessels Entering the Wet Docks for the Purpose of Repairs Afloat or Dry Docking

A locking fee of £0.55 per G.T. will be charged, in lieu of the usual tonnage charges (the locking fee does not include use of Dry Docks).Application should be made to the private Dry Dock Companies regarding arrangements as to charges, etc., in respect of their Dry Dock.

Dock Rent

If any vessel entering the Wet Dock to discharge/load cargo shall remain within a Dock or Basin, for a period longer than three days, following completion of vessel, then for the time during which the vessel remains beyond that period it will incur further charges as follows: -

For every day or part of a day - £0.07 (per G.T.)

For any vessel entering the Wet Dock for purposes other than to discharge/load cargo dock rent will be charged from the day of entry as follows: -

For every day or part of a day - £0.07 (per G.T.)


II Basis of Charge

A)Tonnage charges will be based on the port of loading and/or discharge of cargo carried by vessels irrespective of any intermediate port of call.

B)The total charge payable by any vessel relating to dues on vessels shall not be less than £616.00.

C)Where a vessel discharges a cargo on its inward voyage and then loads a cargo on its outward voyage, tonnage charges will be levied on both the inward and outward voyages.

D)The gross tonnage stated on the ITC (1969) certificate is the only measurement accepted for the purpose of assessing harbour and other dues.

E)ABP reserves the right to impose an assessment of Gross Tonnage for the payment of ships and other dues on vessels unable to produce ITC (1969) certificates tonnage calculated in accordance with a simplified formula approved by the Department of Transport. (Copy of formula supplied on request).

F)In accordance with the European Council Regulation (EC) No.2978/94, oil tankers equipped with segregated ballast tanks will receive a reduction on the gross tonnage related charges in this tariff.In order to claim this reduction, the vessel must be able to produce an International Tonnage Certificate (1969) showing under "Remarks" that the vessel is equipped with segregated ballast tanks.

Vessels will be charged on the reduced gross tonnage as stated under "Remarks" at the appropriate rate per GT.

G)Environmental Charge

For all vessels entering the ports of Cardiff and Barry (other than those accommodated at a terminal which provides its own waste disposal facility, a charge per vessel entry of

2.Vessels over 3,000GT£57.05 will be raised

H)Bank/Public Holiday Premium

For all vessels entering or leaving the ports of Cardiff and Barry on the following dates, a charge of £500 will be made.

Bunkers will be charged at £3.96 (foreign) and £1.98 (coastwise)
